1. What is the CityDesks service?
CityDesks is a range of virtual office and business centre services delivered from a Bothwell St location. Services include permanent workstations, touchdown facilities, mail handling, call handling and ad hoc secretarial back-up.
It provides ‘big company’ infrastructure on flexible terms to small businesses or larger businesses looking for a short term or long-term Glasgow base.
2. What does the Workstation service provide?
A CityDesks Workstation provides 24 hours access to your own office. The workstation includes desk, pedestal, storage cabinet, telephone, PC (If required) and broadband internet connection.
Workstation clients receive their own phone number, fax number and their mail is sorted to their personal mailbox daily. They have direct access to ad hoc chargeable secretarial services including copying, binding, laminating, printing, typing, mailshots, presentations etc.
Meeting and training rooms and equipment are available to hire at reduced rates (dependingon availability).
3. How does the Touchdown Service work?
Touchdown individual workstations are provided within a shared office during normal business hours. The workstation includes desk, telephone, PC with broadband access. Also includes plug-in points for your laptop and mobile charger.
The monthly subscription includes a package of Touchdown time tailored to your needs, bookable in advance
Touchdown clients have access to ad hoc secretarial services including copying, binding, laminating, printing, typing, mailshots, presentations etc.
Meeting and training rooms and equipment are available to hire and there is access to complimentary coffee/tea.
4. Can I meet clients at CityDesks?
Small meeting rooms holding up to 6 people are bookable by the hour.
Larger offices are available in half day blocks by contacting Business and Training Centre staff in advance 0141 222 9500. Informal meetings can be held in the bistro area outwith the main lunch period (12-2pm) but it should be noted that this area is not private and other users may be around.
5. How does the Mail Manager Service work?
The Mail Manager service will forward mail received at your CityDesks address to your preferred location, or hold it for you to collect. CityDesks gives you all the benefits of a prestigious business address without the expensive office lease and there's always someone available during office hours to receive and sign for items.
6. How does the Call Manager Service work?
You will be allocated an 0141 phone number and calls answered by a team of switchboard operators in your company name with a short script. Calls can then be patched to your mobile or other number - or messages taken and passed for you to answer at your convenience. A night time service is available to divert to your nominated mobile number.
Using this service in conjunction with Mail Manager provides your business with a complete city centre identity.
7. Can I use a combination of services?
Yes, we can offer a number of packages which combine elements of each service.
CityDesks Inclusive offers a full package of Mail and Call Handling combined with 30 hours of Touchdown space for only £125 + Vat monthly.
City ID combines the Mail Manager and Call Manager services to give clients your business a full City Centre identity at £65 + VAT per month.
Please note that all services incur an admin fee to set up and a returnable deposit is also charged.
8. Is office space available to me as a Mail Manager or Call Manager client?
Yes, you can hire desk or meeting space on an hourly basis (depending on availability). Please enquire with reception.
9. How will the CityDesks service work for my start-up or home-based business?
CityDesks is ideal for businesses which decide to trade from home but which want to give the appearance of having their own city centre office and back-up staff. A City Centre identity will enhance the perception of the business and the Touchdown service will allow you to call in to your own city centre base when it suits you.
10. How will CityDesks Office work for my existing business?
CityDesks is ideal for businesses with a requirement for a West of Scotland base but who do not need or wish to establish a permanent office. For example, you may be fulfilling a one-off contract in Glasgow. Alternatively, CityDesks might be a first step to establishing a staffed branch office as a new market is developed.
11. What secretarial services are available to CityDesks clients?
CityDesks clients can access a wide range of secretarial services including copying, typing, faxing, laminating, binding, presentations etc. This is offered on an ad hoc basis and should not been seen as an alternative to hiring permanent/temporary office staff. You can also buy stationery items and hire presentation equipment.
12. How long do I have to commit to CityDesks Services?
All CityDesks services are for a minimum period of 3 months, thereafter cancellable on 1 month's notice in writing. Full terms and conditions are supplied with application pack.
