1. What is the Citydesks service?

Citydesks is a range of virtual office and business centre services delivered from a George Square location. Services include permanent workstations, touchdown facilities, mail handling, call handling and full secretarial back-up.

It provides ‘big company’ infrastructure on flexible terms to small businesses or larger businesses looking for a short term or long-term Glasgow base.

2. What does the Workstation service provide?

A Citydesks Workstation provides 24 hours access to shared office. The workstation includes wave desk, pedestal, storage cabinet, telephone with Voicemail, Windows 2000 / XP PC with TFT monitor, Office 2003 software and Broadband Internet connection.

Workstation clients receive their own phone number, fax number and email address and their mail and faxes are sorted to their personal mailbox. They have direct access to payable secretarial services including copying, binding, laminating, printing, typing, mailshots, presentations etc.

Meeting and training rooms and equipment are available to hire and there is access to shared kitchen facilities. Informal meeting space is also available.

3. How does the Touchdown Service work?

Touchdown workstations are provided within a shared office. The workstation includes wave desk, telephone with Voicemail, Windows 2000 / XP PC with TFT monitor and Office 2003 software. Also includes plug-in points for your laptop and mobile charger.

The monthly subscription includes 30 hours of Touchdown time bookable in advance in blocks of 1 hour or more.

Touchdown clients have direct access to secretarial services including copying, binding, laminating, printing, typing, mailshots, presentations etc.

Meeting and training rooms and equipment are available to hire and there is access to complimentary coffee and informal meeting space.

4. Can I meet clients at Citydesks?

Both formal and informal meeting spaces are available to Citydesks clients. Meeting rooms holding from 4 to 60 are bookable by the hour. Informal meeting space is available in the form of a bistro area with tea / coffee provided.

5. How does the Mail Manager Service work?

The Mail Manager service will forward mail received at your Citydesks address to your preferred location, fax it to you, or hold it for you to collect. Citydesks gives you all the benefits of a prestigious business address without the expensive office lease. Citydesks also offers a variety of secretarial services.

6. How does the Call Manager Service work?

You will be allocated an 0141 phone number which gives you access to 24 hour remote access Voicemail, and call divert services. In addition to the facility to have calls answered in your company name. Using this service in conjunction with Mail Manager provides your business with a complete City Centre identity.

7. Can I use a combination of services?

Yes, we can offer a number of packages which combine elements of each service.

Citydesks Inclusive offers a full package of Mail and Call Handling combined with 30 hours of Touchdown space for only £125 + Vat monthly.

City ID combines the Mail Manager and Call Manager services to give clients your business a full City Centre identity.

9. How will the Citydesks service work for my start-up or home-based business?

Citydesks is ideal for businesses which decide to trade from home but which want to give the appearance of having their own city centre office and back-up staff. A City Centre identity will enhance the perception of the business and the Touchdown service will allow you to call in to your own city centre base when it suits you.

10. How will Citydesks Office work for my existing business?

Citydesks is ideal for businesses with a requirement for a West of Scotland base but do not need or wish to establish a permanent office. For example, you may be fulfilling a one-off contract in Glasgow. Alternatively, Citydesks might be a first step to establishing a staffed branch office as a new market is developed.

11. What secretarial services are available to Citydesks clients?

Citydesks clients can access a wide range of secretarial services including copying, typing, faxing, laminating, binding, presentations etc. They can also buy stationery items and hire presentation equipment.

12. How long do I have to commit to Citydesks Services?

All Citydesks services are for a minimum period of 3 months, thereafter cancellable on 1 months notice in writing.

In addition to the monthly subscription, there is a one-off registration fee of £50 which covers references and identification, IT configuration, and other account set-up processes. A returnable deposit of £100 (or £290 for Workstation) is required.

Your account is payable monthly in advance by direct debit. Initial payments can be made by credit or debit card.
